Beginners

If you’ve never surfed before and want to learn how to surf, or if you need some guidance at a new spot you’ve never surfed before, it’s a good idea to start with some lessons. That way you’ll get the most out of your surfing holiday. We work together with a professional surfschool close to Olá Onda Guesthouse. All teachers are certified and there is a lot of personal attention. Each surf lesson is about 1,5 to 2 hours. You can book your lessons on the spot, or in advance (which we recommend in case you are traveling between June and September). The times of the surf lessons are different every day, depending on the tides.

€40 per lesson

Price includes surfboard, wetsuit, booties, insurance and transfer from and to Olá Onda Guesthouse.

Please note: adults can surf almost every day of the year in Ericeira, but for those under 18 the ocean is sometimes too rough and they won’t be allowed to join the surf lesson.

Intermediate surfing

You may already know the basics of surfing and took your lessons as a beginner. You know how to surf down the line and you are able to paddle out to the bigger waves in the back. Now it’s time to improve your skills! An intermediate surf lesson with a professional coach is the answer. There are multiple surf spots in Ericeira that are perfect to improve your surfing. Keep in mind that the possibilities always depend on the ocean conditions. To join the intermediate surf lessons it’s important you’ve surfed in the last year. Prices are the same as beginner lessons.

For those who already know how to surf, but don’t own a board, or don’t want the hassle and stress of taking your board on an airplane: you can always rent. Both surfboard and wetsuit. Costs: 1/2 day surfboard: €16 1 day surfboard: €20 1/2 day wetsuit: €10 1 day wetsuit: €15
