It's close to Lisbon so can get very crowded, especially in the weekends.

Information & board rental

The northern part of the Costa da Caparica beach has several jetties, so the sandbanks are stable. Waves are normally smaller in Costa da Caparica than they are in Ericeira. The beach is also very popular for sunbathing, the temperature is always higher here than in Ericeira. The center of town and the boardwalk has many surf shops where you can rent a board or arrange surf lessson. Parking is paid.
